The origins of Lord Hanuman, a revered figure in Hindu mythology, can be traced back to the Putrakameshthi Yadnya performed by King Dasharatha, who sought the blessings of progeny. Upon the successful conclusion of this sacred ritual, the deity Agni-Narayan presented Prasad. In an unforeseen turn of events, Wanari, a female monkey, seized a portion of this Prasad from Queen Kaikeyi. Consequently, Lord Hanuman, also recognized as Maruti and regarded as the eleventh avatar of Lord Shiva, came into existence. He is celebrated for his unwavering devotion to Lord Rama.

Additionally, Hanuman received a unique blessing from Shani—protection from the astrological effect known as Sadesati—following his role in assisting Shani's escape from captivity under Ravana. Unique in this regard, Hanuman stands out as a figure unaffected by Shani's Sadesati influence. The Maruti Strotra is often recommended as a potent recitation for individuals seeking to mitigate the stresses associated with Shani's affliction. Statistical observations suggest that approximately 25% of the global population experiences Sadesati at any given time.

Hindu scriptures advocate that those undergoing Sadesati should recite the Maruti Strotra at least 11 times on Tuesdays and Saturdays during this period to alleviate its effects significantly.
